Brand Communicator, Nigeria’s leading brand and marketing communications magazine, has emerged the PR Magazine of the Year for the third consecutive year at the 2019 Lagos PR Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA).

Also, it’s Senior Reporter, Azeez Disu, a consummate journalist, emerged PR Journalist of the year. Recall, he recently clinched the Brand Journalist of the Year at 2019 ADVAN Awards for Marketing Excellence (West Africa).

LaPRIGA is organised by the flagship chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos NIPR Chapter and the 2019 edition was held at the Grand Ballroom, Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The prestigious award is a great networking platform attracting the creme de la creme from different sectors and has evolved to become the communications industry Oscars, adding new colours, dimensions and values to the industry by recognising best accomplishments in reputation management, relationship management and support for marketing functions.

It is noteworthy that Brand Communicator won the award in 2017, 2018 and 2019 back to back. In a message to Brand Communicator on the award, the chapter noted: "On behalf of the selection panel of the 2019 LaPRIGA, we are delighted to inform you that Brand Communicator has been nominated to be decorated as the PR Magazine of the year-the highest honour reserved for publications who excelled in upholding the highest professional standard in publishing and journalism that informs, entertains and educates engaging minds, building relationships, transforming marketing decisions and impacting the future."

Similarly, in a message to Azeez Disu, the chapter wrote: "On behalf of the selection panel of the 2019 LaPRIGA, we are delighted to inform you of your nomination to receive the coveted honours as the PR Journalist of the year 2019 in recognition of depth of writings on public relations and commitment to the highest professional standard in journalism that engage minds and building relationships.”

Reacting to the win, an excited Publisher of Brand Communicator and CEO of Awesome Communications, Joshua Ajayi, noted that the recognition from the Lagos NIPR for the third consecutive year is an honour and a testament to the consistency and value Brand Communicator provides the industry.

"We are motivated and poised to do more and do better in the industry. We are happy and enthusiastic for the future.

"I thank God for this award and I appreciate the Brand Communicator team, the best team in the world for this win. I also congratulate our Senior Reporter, AzeezDisu. One cannot ask for a better team."

It is noteworthy that Brand Communicator is the organiser of Women in Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA), the largest gathering of female marketing and communications professionals in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. It is also the organisers of BRANDCOMFEST, the largest gathering of brands and marketing communications professionals in Nigeria.

In addition, it is a media partner to the biggest creative advertising shows on the continent, Loeries Africa Middle East and African Cristal Festival.
