Brand Communicator,
Nigeria’s leading brand and marketing communications magazine, has emerged the
PR Magazine of the Year for the third consecutive year at the 2019 Lagos PR
Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA).
Also, it’s Senior Reporter,
Azeez Disu, a consummate journalist, emerged PR Journalist of the year. Recall,
he recently clinched the Brand Journalist of the Year at 2019 ADVAN Awards for
Marketing Excellence (West Africa).
LaPRIGA is organised by the
flagship chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos NIPR
Chapter and the 2019 edition was held at the Grand Ballroom, Civic Center,
Victoria Island, Lagos.
The prestigious award is a
great networking platform attracting the creme de la creme from different
sectors and has evolved to become the communications industry Oscars, adding
new colours, dimensions and values to the industry by recognising best
accomplishments in reputation management, relationship management and support
for marketing functions.
It is noteworthy that Brand
Communicator won the award in 2017, 2018 and 2019 back to back. In a message to
Brand Communicator on the award, the chapter noted: "On behalf of the
selection panel of the 2019 LaPRIGA, we are delighted to inform you that Brand
Communicator has been nominated to be decorated as the PR Magazine of the
year-the highest honour reserved for publications who excelled in upholding the
highest professional standard in publishing and journalism that informs,
entertains and educates engaging minds, building relationships, transforming
marketing decisions and impacting the future."
Similarly, in a message to
Azeez Disu, the chapter wrote: "On behalf of the selection panel of the
2019 LaPRIGA, we are delighted to inform you of your nomination to receive the
coveted honours as the PR Journalist of the year 2019 in recognition of depth
of writings on public relations and commitment to the highest professional
standard in journalism that engage minds and building relationships.”
Reacting to the win, an
excited Publisher of Brand Communicator and CEO of Awesome Communications,
Joshua Ajayi, noted that the recognition from the Lagos NIPR for the third
consecutive year is an honour and a testament to the consistency and value
