STATSports has launched their new advertising campaign for
the FIFA-approved GPS performance tracker, Apex Athlete Series, featuring
global ambassadors Raheem Sterling and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Announced as major investors in the UK-based company STATSports
in April, Sterling and Oxlade-Chamberlain will star in a new TV advert
showcasing the product during the eagerly awaited Premier League clash between
Liverpool and Manchester City this Sunday.
Apex Athlete Series is a GPS performance tracker worn between
the shoulder blades in a performance vest that monitors your physical data via
smartphone app.
Individual athletes can track stats like your max speed,
total distance, high-speed running distance, fatigue score, and even see their
activity heat map. Its FIFA-approved accreditation means you can now wear it
during official games, too.
Sterling and Oxlade-Chamberlain have been using the
performance-tracking units all their professional careers and currently use the
elite team trackers at Manchester City and Liverpool, respectively.
Liverpool midfielder, Oxlade-Chamberlain, said: “STATSports
is a brand and product I have known and trusted for the last ten years of my
footballing career. Working with STATSports at Southampton, Arsenal, Liverpool
and with England, I know this is the best product on the market by far. From
rehabilitation to matchday performance the technology makes a huge difference.”
Sterling’s rise to become one of the world’s best players
under Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has also ran parallel to his use of
Apex at both City, and Liverpool before that.
The England forward was full of enthusiasm for how the
product could benefit younger players. He said: “I use STATSports’ Apex every
single day for both club and country and have done for years, so I know how
valuable it is for getting the best out of me and the team. And the fact that
aspiring young players can now wear the same technology we do means they can
reach their potential far quicker than we ever could as kids.”
