President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria |
By Toye Faleye
Following the insistence of Eric Stuart
Joyce, a British politician and former military officer, that President
Mohammadu Buhari is dead, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu
has said that the President is still working and holding meetings with top
government functionaries and playing some roles in London, despite being on
medical vacation in London.
Kachikwu, while featuring on BBC Hard Talk
said Buhari was still capable of issuing policies and approving projects when
necessary, adding that the President’s health makes little or no difference in
running his administration.
Kachikwu said the absence of the President
has not made much of a difference because he has a very efficient Vice-President
who is sitting for him. While commenting on the state of the health of the
President, Kachikwu said nobody in the world gives his medical status to
everybody.
