Chairman
of the Senate Committee on Sports and Youth Development, Senator Obinna Ogba on
Thursday praised the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation for organizing
two friendly matches for the Super Eagles against strong African opposition in
London this month.
Speaking
at the Crowne Plaza London Ealing hotel on Thursday, the former NFF vice
president thus charged the players to go all out for victories in both matches
to further boost their confidence ahead of the remaining matches of the 2018
FIFA World Cup qualifying race.
“The
NFF has done very well putting these two matches together. Senegal and Burkina
Faso are very strong teams in Africa, and they will provide the Eagles will
quality opposition.
“My
advice to the NFF has always been that they should never allow any FIFA window
to go unexploited. I want to use this opportunity to call on the Federation to
ensure that they organize a friendly against a top European nation for the
Super Eagles during the FIFA window in June. This will help the team’s
preparation for the World Cup qualifying matches.”
