Company affirms that in order to gain an edge in today’s disruptive business

Weight A Minute at the 3rd
edition of its annual Corporate Wellness Conference tagged Intrapreneurship,
said leaders must build cultures of innovation to lead growth and create value
in the future of work.
Speaking at the
Conference, which took place at Business School Netherlands in Ikeja GRA, on
Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December, 2016, Fola Osasona, Convener, Corporate
Wellness Conference stated that the
Intrapreneurship conference is aimed at empowering business leaders with
the thinking patterns and practical skills of intrapreneurs to lead disruptive
innovation activities and embolden them to face rapid change and growing
environmental uncertainty caused by technological development.
Fola explained that
disruption is an opportunity and a challenge for organizations, economies and
individuals. She said facing the challenges of a disruptive environment requires
new ways of thinking and practices in order to survive and thrive in today’s
fast moving world.
She said, “All
organizations and their customers are challenged by complexity and disruption
and this can directly impact an organizations revenue streams. Organizations
whose revenue streams are threatened have a limited life span.
“Leadership is required to
understand the challenge, set strategy and objectives build effective cultures
and reorient organizations to be more resilient and relevant. We need new ways
of thinking and acting to remain relevant, competitive and resilient in a
dynamically disruptive environment.” Fola added.
The conference is not only
a valuable professional development opportunity for individuals and teams from
both large and small organizations, but also a platform to hear from leading
thinkers on issues ranging from leadership, employee engagement and innovation.
This year’s
Intrapreneurship conference assembled a stellar panel comprising intrapreneurs
or corporate entrepreneurs, innovation (program) managers and directors, heads
of labs, incubators and accelerators, corporate venturing, strategy and business
development managers, R&D and product development professionals, HR and
organizational transformation leaders all chasing similar objectives and facing
similar challenges, across companies and industries.
