Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is wary of the threat Rainford
Kalaba will pose when they tackle the Chipolopolo of Zambia in next month’s
2018 World Cup qualifier,.
Kalaba was on target for the Zambians in their last game which
ended 1-1 against Kenya at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola.
And Rohr is aware of the midfielder’s experience on the big stage
having scored ten goals for the national team.
The Nigeria head coach is however quick to add that a solid
defence line will be key to success when the qualifiers kick off next month.
In a video posted by the Nigerian Football Federation Twitter
handle, the former Burkina Faso coach said: “I know of Rainford Kalaba who has
been a consistent scorer for Zambia and also Stopila Sunzu who plays for Lille
in France.
“But the key to all this is a solid defence line which we have
started from the first game against Tanzania.”
Rohr is expected to release his squad list for the game before the
end of the week.
