The Enugu State Police Command has rescued two men who allegedly engage in homosexual activities with unsuspecting victims in the state from jungle justice.

The two men identified as Nonso Ejimene, 22, an Accountancy students in one of the tertiary institutions in the state and Odinaka Orji, 32, a driver were almost lynched by irate mob at Coal Camp on 17th July, over alleged homosexual activities before policemen arrived the scene.

In a statement released by the Enugu state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amarizu, both men had been stripped naked by angry mob before a team dispatched by the state police command arrived the scene to whisk the suspects away and save the situation from degenerating.

During interrogation, one of the suspects, Nonso Ejimene who hails from Ezeagu Local Government Area, confessed that he was engaging in homosexual activities but had left it before what he described as “satanic influences” lured and pushed him into the act again as he tried to have intercourse with one of the boys staying with Odinaka, identified as Chimezie whom he had severally threatened and disturbed to give in to his advances.

On his part, Odinaka, who also hails from Oji River Local Government Area, who is also a married man, said that his wife had left him after she found out about his homosexual escapades which he blamed on the devil.

He also said that his homosexual tendencies have defied all remedies as he has visited so many pastors to heal him all to no avail.

He confessed that he was about to have sexual intercourse with a boy staying with him in the same room. The boy identified as Sunday, a barrow pusher, ran out of the room, raised alarm which drew the attention of the angry mob who beat him to pulp almost to the point of death before police arrived the scene.
Both men have been taken into custody and are now helping police with their investigations.
