A younger brother to the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Ademola Adeleke, has been cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee, disqualifying an aide to the Osun State Governor, Senator Mudashiru Hussein, who is the Commissioner for Cabinet Matters in the state.

Mudashiru was disqualified on the grounds that while seeking public office, he has remained an employee of the public service within the 30 days preceding date of an election, contrary to the  APC’s 2014 guidelines for the nomination of candidates for public office. His appeal has also been struck out by court.

The primary election has been postponed till Tuesday to pick the party’s candidate for the by-election to fill the Osun West Senatorial District’s vacant seat at the Senate.

The seat became vacant as a result of the death of Isiaka Adeleke whose kinsmen alleged was poisoned, but which the coroner inquest declared otherwise, saying the late senator died of drug overdose.
