The Disciplinary Committee of The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has slammed two-match ban on Mr. Julius Atete for inciting his team to abandon their match with Crown FC.

The ban will take effect from their next match (21)

According to the committee, the team officials have no right to abandon the match under any circumstances and that necessitated the ban.

”If a club refuses to continue with a game for a period of up to five (5) minutes in a match or till the expiration of full time of any half of the game or walks-off the pitch, it shall forfeit the match to its opponent by 3 points 3 goals or the score at the time of abandonment whichever is higher.” The committee stated.

The club shall in addition pay a fine of N500,000.00 to League Management Committee within fourteen (14) days.

In the same vein, the committee also fined Crown FC with the sum of one million naira (N1000,000) in line with Art.4.3 for their inability to control their supporters from vandalising J Atete FC bus.

Meanwhile, the committee has directed Crown FC to play their next two home matches under closed door to forestall any disturbances.
